RAINGUTTER REGATTA

Wednesday night the Pack did a "Raingutter Regatta". The kids are given a little regatta boat kit to carve / create, then 10 foot raingutters are filled & they blow on the sails with straws. It's always quite a hoot! In between races, they had the kids who were waiting to race rotate through stations...

Here's Sullen writing his letter to the troops. His was very nice; thanked them for their service & for keeping us safe. Believe me when I say that young boys should NOT be told to just generically "write a letter of thanks" to the troops -- as one mother said to me, "Is someone going to check these over first????"

The kids also had to put the Cub Scout promise into order (which was pretty easy for our Den because Harry is really great about having the kids go over it each meeting)....

Another thing they did was a ping pong "game" where the kids blew the balls back & forth to each other & the adults kept score. I think they were all so tired from this that by time they got to do their race they were all blown out! (Sullen is on the right.)

Papaw came to see the McCormick hot air in action... but man-oh-man, you should have SEEN the look Bebe gave us when he realized that MeMaw had NOT come down with him LOL!! Oh, someone has some big time sucking up to do at Thanksgiving to the wee one!!

One of the last stations was making paper "helicopters", which just ENTHRALLED the Wee One. Mouth took him up on the stage & let him throw them off repeatedly. (Now we're back to tossing the parachute bunnies from Easter off the bridge here at the house.)

AND HERE'S THE MAIN EVENT!!!! The boys didn't do too well, but it's all about having fun, and they DID do that, so that's all that *I* care about!!
