SUMMER BEGINS!

And Kevin has actually slept past 6 am the past two mornings - woo hoo! Yes, last week was the first week of their summer vacation, but really with having Cub Scout camp, it wasn't much of a vacation (for ANYONE).

Monday was busy -- went to a local park for a picnic & playtime, then came back for nap, then went to the pool for an hour. Poor Ryan was so cold in the pool he was turning blue & shaking, so we took off. On the way home, we stopped at A&W to pick up dinner & it ended up being Free Float Day LOL! The kids were all happy with their root beer floats (& I was glad they were FREE!) and I let Ryan have the ice cream off the top. We ended up picnicing on the back patio then playing outside. Ryan was starting to get whiney, and it was close to 8, so we went on inside to get ready for bed. While I was trying to get his bottle ready he kept crying & whining... and when I got him upstairs I realized why when he PUKED ALL OVER ME. Of course, all I could think was, "Why doesn't this stuff happen when HARRY is home??!!!!????"

Ryan & I were up & down all night long, so on Tuesday we just hung out at the house. The "Bigs" were not thrilled with this, since we were supposed to have gone to the library and then the splash activity park, but it was chilly anyway & they can go Friday with their Dad while I'm at my church Moms small group. Tuesday night we played outside for a bit, and after some Motrin, Ryan only woke up twice last night with the crying/whining.

Today we went to one of my playgroups at a local park, and after about an hour the Bigs got bored since the next youngest child was four. This afternoon they've played with Bobby a bit, and tonight we're having the Cub Scout rocket launch.

This week we also started our "homeschool" for summer, but unfortunately we've not yet received our workbooks from the school system. Instead I've been going through the Cub Scout requirements and so this week we've finished off all the electives for the "Map" requirement. We're also working on our Culture & Heritages, and Collecting requirements; I set the boys up with some pen pals from New Zealand (courtesy of a fellow twin Mom on an email list!). I've also asked on some lists, and am about to here, for folks to help us out with postcards!

If you have a moment & can pick up a postcard that is reflective of your area, could you send it to the (big) boys? Leave me a message in the comments if you need the address & I will get it off to you! If you're outside of the US, that's even cooler :) !!!

Well, the Bigs are on the phone with Gramma making plans for their visit next week, and I need to get them fed & out the door for the rocket launch!
