Yes, five seconds of peace. It's what we found yesterday, because Gramma & Grampa stopped by & picked up the kids and took them to a graduation party while Ryan napped. Harry & I actually got to sit and TALK to each other without anyone whining, crying, fighting... and that was just US! Think how chaotic it is when the rest of 'em start going! ::wink::
This is the last week of school. I will be happy to not have the rigidity of the 7:20 / 2:30 bus schedule... but my oh my, to have all three of them home is going to KILL me! Had problems last week with the big boys thinking they could just run in & out of the house and around the neighborhood without ASKING... so we had the "chat" (which actually consisted of me bellowing at Patrick while he sobbed & "grrrr'd" at me) that when they are eightTEEN they can "tell" me where they are headed... but when they are EIGHT they have to ASK me if they can go there... I know that Harry is a lot more relaxed about it than I am, but until you're the one to make the phone call to the other parent to say that one of the kids is missing, well.... Plus you always hear that it's neighborhoods like this one, where people feel "safe" and LET their kids roam, where the kids can encounter problems.
And ultimately, what it comes down, is that fact that I have three male children. Three male children... with stereotypically MINIMAL COMMON SENSE.
Well, this post went into another tangent! And the few seconds of peace I've had this morning are being interrupted by Ryan starting to "sing" from his crib, so guess it's time to get him up & moving. He's going to nursery today and I'm going to start running errands like a possessed woman to get ready for the weekend -- Friday night is the Family Picnic for the Den... Saturday is Ryan's birthday party... and the following Monday I'm hostessing MOMS Club here for a card making party, of which I'm supposed to have some samples made up (oops!) already.
Ah, summer!

Oh, yes, it's tough to be the only female in a testosterone driven household. lol
After what happened to Kevin a few years ago at the park, I think I would watch them like a hawk until they get married. I was going to say dating, but changed my mind real quick. :)
Did you have a big party for Ryan?
Good luck with your card making party.
