Checked in at home & got our souvenir requests -- Kevin wants a stuffed turtle, and Patrick wants a pool & TV. Guess who has a greater chance of actually receiving their souvenir request?? I keep offering to grab a seagull to take home for Hannah, but Harry won't agree to it. Kill joy.
After we changed we went across the bridge to Nassau, strolled down Bay Street through all the stores (while Harry deftly moved us back & forth across the street to avoid all the Columbian Emerald stores), then ended up at the straw market. We remembered very quickly that once you've seen one table of items at the straw market you've seen EVERYTHING at the straw market... and if you're not wanting to really purchase anything made from straw then well, there's not much else to look for there LOL! It always cracks me up how they say that they're running a special or a sale. I guess people really fall for that!!
We then headed to our actual destination -- Graycliff. They have a cigar company so we went in & watched them rolling cigars. The artistry and finesse is just amazing, and it was so interesting to see the precision that it takes to roll a cigar! It was in a section called the "Humidor", with a restaurant in it that does the gaucho style meals, where they walk around with skewers of meat and cut off pieces for you. IT WAS INCREDIBLE! I got to the point where I just kept telling them no, I didn't want any, because I was just trying to work on what was actually ON my plate already! First we headed off to a salad bar, which had an antipasto style area with cold meats, vegetables, etc... There was also a rice & beans, a pot of something we had no clue what it was, salads, vegetables, more weird stuff, etc... We sat down & started to eat and all of a sudden we just had gauchos coming left & right! Bacon wrapped chicken breast chunks, bacon wrapped filet chunks, sirloin, flank steak, beef tenderloin, salted pork tenderloin, sweet & spicy ham, italian spiced chicken wings, bbq ribs, lamb chops, lamb tenderloin (Harry was in HEAVEN), HUGE beef ribs that they sliced the meat off of, leg of lamb, sausage, and I *think* that was all.... It was definitely the best value for our money we've found on this island LOL!!
We had struck up a conversation with the couple at the table next to us who were from TN, so we shared a taxi back over the bridge and then went our own ways. Ended up just passing out after eating so much meat!!
