OKTOBERFEST!!

Raise your beer steins for the Dayton Oktoberfest! We thought it was really similar to Mainstrasse, except there was better seating & you couldn't beat the additional fun of going through the Art Institute LOL!! We signed the kids up for the DAI Kids Club, so if we go back three more times in the coming year & complete museum "hunts" (titled "Animals in Art"; "Faces"; and then "Who Knew?") they will receive an art kit which is AWESOME! We figured we'd take the boys back for the Egypt exhibit, and since that's the big exhibit now at DAI, all the kiddie activities at Oktoberfest had the egyptian theme.

The boys made pharoh "hats" by drawing the symbols for the letters in their name on some cheesecloth; "carved" out a "sandstone" tile & painted it; and then made placard necklaces. They had a blast... we had a good beer... so it was all good LOL!! There were four artisan tents which the boys walked us (quickly) through, which was good because I keep eyeing those copper twists! (Kicking myself for not jumping & ordering them when Smith & Hawken had them in their clearance!! ACK!!)
