WEEK RECAP - Part One

Last Tuesday night Sheila & the boys (that means Scott, too LOL!) got here about 5 and we went off to 'Marion's Piazza' for pizza. Humor of the evening? S asking the bar guy if they had anything darker than GMD on tap. Okay, honey... it's DAYTON... in a pizza joint that tries to talk itself up by saying it's a "piazza" place. Flavored water is IT! LOL!! Kids thought they were tough stuff since they got beer, too (ROOT beer). They were all so excited to be together again that they wouldn't go to sleep until after 10 pm.

Kevin made sure he woke everyone up by 7 am each morning. It was ugly. LOL! Wednesday we just hung out at the house and the kids were just WILD with each other. They spent a lot of time riding the bikes and just having fun fun fun together.

On Thursday we had the "Patriotic Picnic" for the Edwards family, so that all their friends could come in to see them instead of them having to drive every which way. All went well UNTIL the electricity went out here. Nothing like a hot day, HUGE levels of humidity, and no air, along with TONS of kids running around LOL! The other excitement? We let all the kids do some sparklers... after the Mommies had a few whiskey slushes. Note to self: Pyrotechnics + whiskey = burning bushes! One of the sparklers set off a patch of ornamental grass on fire. We were cracking up, Heather was trying to beat it out with her shoe, and I was taking pictures. What a group we were!

It was nice to see some of the folks again that I knew, and quite fun to take pictures of four sets of twins! It would have been SEVEN sets, but 2 of the Moms couldn't make it. Bummer for Sheila :(.

It was nice to just RELAX on Thursday night... I had been really anxious about the Thursday picnic because I wanted it to be really nice for Sheila.
