HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!

We had a nice New Year's Eve this year. Meemaw & Papaw's traditional plans fell through so they offered to babysit if we would go out. Instead, I asked if the kids could go THERE... which they did! Meemaw took the picture below to try to shock me, but she forgets that I'm the whacked out mother that put bottles of champagne into her 2-1/2 month old kids hands 9 years ago & took photos of them (& then scrapbooked them for posterity LOL!)....
(Doesn't the Wee One look tipsy in that first picture????)Anyway, we had an awesome time -- there was a neighborhood party so Harry & I went by ourselves (kids were invited, but it was nice to not have to deal with either keeping our kids up too late, or having to take them home to bed). We were actually out until 2 am!!! The last time I'd been awake at 2 am it was courtesy of the Wee One LOL! We went to a Thai restaurant for dinner beforehand... and I actually had some time to get myself "prepped" for an evening as an adult -- which then led to LOTS of compliments on how GREAT I looked from all the neighbors (guess it's pretty sad when you actually do your hair & make-up & the folks who see you on a daily basis can't get over the change in your appearance ROF - oops!!!!)
We're just soooo indebted to Meemaw & Papaw for giving us some time! It's amazing to actually get to TALK to your husband without it involving the kids... or someone hanging on you... etc... although The Man decided that when the kids aren't around, The Fluffy One is an even BIGGER pest than the kids are with wanting to be let out... in... be pet... be played with... I guess next time we need to send all FOUR "kids" to Camp Gramma Grampa!! Ryan is ALREADY asking (EVERY TIME I PUT HIM IN THE CAR - ARGH!!) if he gets to go to Meemaw-Papaw's house. Looks like I need to find a weekend without anything scheduled so that we can make a trip to the old homestead....
