Last week was hellacious. Which is why I haven't been online much (here or elsewhere)!
Sunday through Tuesday the munchkie was sick... Tuesday night was soccer, and just as I get the boys dressed (no small feat, let me tell you!) and ready to go, K tells me that his head & tummy hurts. Don't know WHAT made me do it, but I got out the thermometer and here it is 100.7! Whoops! So, everyone strips back down and we stay home.
Wednesday Gramma, Grampa and Gramma Mac come to visit so I dashed out to pick up dinner and order the boys' cake for their birthday. Thursday morning I was at Kroger bright & early, then there was a "Homeroom Parent" meeting -- and guess who got suckered into being the Chair??)... then a family friend, Doris, came for lunch and to visit. The boys got home from school and one at a time, I took them to Target to give them a chance to purchase a birthday gift for each other. BIG MISTAKE. BIG. Patrick took over two hours... Kevin was about 1-1/2 hours. I was about to GO INSANE.
Friday was the boys' 7th birthday... and they were up at 4:43 AM. Yes, you read that right - A M !!!! They wanted to open the gifts they had purchased for each other. Ugh. It was just ugly from there on out LOL. We went to Fridays for their birthday lunch, then they were off to Toys-R-Us to pick out gifts using the gift cards they got from Gramma & Grampa. Finally got home around 3:30 pm and started working on dinner of spag & meatballs (P's choice). We opened the rest of the gifts after dinner -- and the house looked like Geoffrey (the Toys-R-Us mascot, for those who are uninformed LOL) had thrown up in our dining room! Legos, Transformers, Hot Wheels - you name it, it was there!
Saturday we had a REALLY COLD soccer game -- I actually got wind burnt! Their team won - I think it was the first game they'd actually won! - and K yet again managed to get through a whole game without touchign teh ball. WHat a SKILL! Saturday noon was the party at Chuck E Cheese. Let's just say it's a good thing THAT is over!
And I'm getting stressed & tired just remembering all this!
When we got home from the birthday party, the grandparents left. They had stayed home with the baby (thank goodness!) so then it was a bit of down-time. And I mean just a BIT.
Sunday we were off & running again, trying to clean up toy puke, the house, and get ready for the Cub Scout meeting at our house at 2 pm, with H's family coming at 4 pm for birthday dinners.
I think I am totally FRIED and OVER birthdays!!
