A Year of CrockPotting: CrockPot Bacon Wrapped Cornish Game Hens
So I've been following this blog for the last couple of months and have had quite a few folks mention they've also followed the link on my site to check her out... but tonight was the first time I've actually USED one of the recipes. I had it cooking today during the Cub Scout meeting (which prompted one of the other Moms to suspiciously look at me & say, "I thought you said you never cooked??"). I think her concerns were a bit alleviated, however, by the fact that one of the Dads in attendance is a firefighter. Always safer to have the firefighter Dad around when I'm cooking, right? (Because, after all, I did manage to crisp up the Bob Evans buns pretty well - LOL!!)
Anyway, I did these cornish hens, and I have to admit that they were pretty darn good! I wrapped them with thick-cut pepper bacon and the big boys were fighting over the bacon (I didn't follow the direction that said to toss it after cooking -- I figured I would have been drawn & quartered & cooked in the crock pot myself if I had tossed bacon...) and the hens were fabulous -- LITERALLY fell off the bones. I was hoping for this really nice presentation on my Longaberger platter... instead, I set out a pile of chunks of hen & bones LOL! The Man was rather impressed, though, with how juicy the hens were -- guess now I'm going to have to try out her Brown Sugar Chicken recipe (once I make a trip back to Trader Joe's for the brown rice I prefer!).

Sounds yummy. Great job. I have a sticky chicken recipe for the crockpot. It is so good. It falls off the bones. And supper easy. The best kind of recipe. If you want it just hit me up. :)
