HOMEWORK IN THE SUMMER?!!!!??

Our school district sends out books to all the kids over the summer that say "Step Up To .........." with whatever grade they are entering. The first year we piddled around & started them at the last minute. It was SUCH a struggle & the kids complained because they would hate the pages I had picked out for them. Last summer they had to do two pages a day and I put all the page numbers into a can & they picked them out. That system worked so well we did it again this year... and they are doing one page a day. As you can see, it's still an endeavor (check out Patrick's face in the 2nd photo LOL!). Ryan, however, is having a BLAST "doing homework" with the big boys each day! I let him scribble with a pencil in a notebook while he tries to snag their workbooks to scribble into them.
