CHEVY CAR SAFETY

Last week I took the big boys to a Cub Scout outing -- it was an automotive safety program put on by a Safe Kids group & a Chevrolet dealership. The kids learned about trunk releases (in new Chevys, of course)... heard a commercial for the On-Star system... learned about seat belt safety.... and did something called "Spot the Tot" which was to make them realize how adults can't see them when they stand behind cars. The "big finale" was to be a deployment of an air bag.
Well, that's when it got sticky. We sat around for 30 minutes for the air bag demo, and then they couldn't get it to work! However, one of the Cub Scout parents made the observation that if these were air bags from wrecked cars, and they didn't deploy in the wreck -- why should we expect them to deploy NOW?

love the "spot the tot" program. I am totally paranoid about kids and cars. Do you know if this is a program just in your area or if I could set something up here in NOrfolk.
