Since our Trick-Or-Treat was on the 30th, on Halloween I hosted a Candy Swap at our house (yeah, what was I thinking??!!!???) Anyway, I hope everyone had fun because they all seemed to like the idea! What I did was have each child bring at least 10 pieces of candy that they received that they did NOT like, and it all went into the witch's cauldron... then they drew numbers and lined up, and went by the cauldron five times -- each time they got to pull out 2 pieces of candy that they DID want. Anything extra or not wanted (leftover) we're donating to our church's Food Pantry (there's a tip, Moms -- great way to get rid of that excess candy that is juicing up your kids & driving you crazy!!). We also watched a 3D version of "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" courtesy of House Party, so they kids all had 3D glasses and some tattoos to take home! We had 12 kids and it went pretty smoothly - lasted about an hour and my kids even said they'd want to do it again next year (although Patrick said only if he picked #1 in the line order again LOL!!).
