Okay, okay, so she deserves sympathy... and yeah, she's gonna have to live with it for the rest of her life... but let her live the rest of her life in JAIL with the other murderers! I can understand being sleep deprived... I can understand being focused on getting to work and starting your work day... but c'mon. She had a routine of taking the child to a babysitter, and she "forgot" to do that because instead she went to pick up donuts to take to work? And then she didn't "notice" her sleeping child the THREE TIMES she went back & forth to the SUV, to bring in the boxes of donuts & move her car?? So not only did it not dawn on her at any point of the day that oops, she didn't drop her kid off at the sitters house but holy moly, she LEFT HER IN THE CAR!... but it's also being mentioned that well, the sitter didn't call to ask why the child wasn't dropped off. Like it's the SITTERS fault!
She's got more than "distraction" wrong with her. Makes me REALLY NERVOUS about who is in charge of MY kids while they are at school. Oh yeah - did I mention that this woman is a VICE PRINCIPAL AT A MIDDLE SCHOOL?

Just makes you feel even more all warm & fuzzy about her, right?? And here's the "best" part -- she has an older child, too, that is still in the home. SORRY, but get that child to someone ELSE! Supposedly the mother was warned (verbally & IN WRITING) not once, not twice, but REPEATEDLY by the administrators of her older daughter's preschool to STOP LEAVING HER BABY IN THE CAR. That's just unforgiveable. Hell, I remember that I wouldn't even go to the post office during the week until the kids were old enough to walk, because I wouldn't even leave them in their car seats to walk the 20 yards from the parking spot to the post box on the sidewalk (no drive-thru at Cheviot LOL!!). I was always afraid that something would happen in those ten seconds -- and this woman would leave her child alone in the car for 10 MINUTES while she'd go into the preschool.
Isn't there something called negligent homicide? I can't believe that the prosecutor doesn't consider this "reckless"... because nope, HE'S NOT PROSECUTING HER. This just makes me sick.

Yup, this totally pisses me off beyond anything.
One day, as an experiment, I took a bottle of water that I had left in the car during the day, and I put the thermometer in it to see how hot the water got. It went up to 102 degrees. That is with the windows rolled up, in a hot, sun-baked car. Just imagine what happens to a child, similar to that water bottle.
That woman is a MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL? She should have her credentials revoked.
Ugh. I'm so mad. Why do people do that to their kids? I NEVER leave the boys in the car. When I fill up for gas, I have the boys roll the windows down. Why can't people have common sense and compassion?
It is absolutely horrible...how do you freaking forget your child/baby is in the car? My goodness...I am sorry you cannot remember but you deserve to suffer like your child.
Worse is a police officer left his dog in his car and it died and he is being charged...and this mother is NOT! Just crazy.
It is awful. A lawyer here in Maine left his child in the car and I don't think he was charged either. Dave watched the video of her at the police station and was surprised she was totally uncontrollable upset -- I would be! I would be a sobbing incoherent mess. It definitely doesn't give warm fuzzies about the school where she works either.
Some people think I am weird, but if my son falls asleep in the car, I stay there with him until he wakes up. I can't fathom leaving him in a parking lot to take donuts inside. Doesn't it feel like the stupid donuts were more important than her child?
Can you imagine how horribly guilty she'll feel for the rest of her life? That's enough for a history of mental break-downs. God bless all involved , especially the 5y/o sibling.
That breaks my heart! I wasn't going to read this, but the curriousity got to me. That's just horrible!
