Tonight was "Parent's Night" at the elementary school, since the kindy kids took a field trip to their "home school" today during their class time. H & I had a hard time NOT counting the number of times the principal said "um".
All in all, school looks okay. We were rather surprised by the low parent turnout, but we were there and that's what matters. They are expecting 115 1st graders next year, so the nice thing we heard was that the district is keeping a very close eye on the numbers and the principal has already started screening teaching applicants so that they are ready to make a job offer once the district decides to add another (5th) 1st grade teacher.
Need to remind the kindy teacher that she said she'd support us requesting the boys be kept together one more year; when I turned in the request tonight to the Principal she started talking about how she has two teachers that have similar styles and we might be happy with the boys doing that. Hopefully she got the cranky pregnant woman look that told her that no, that is NOT what I would be happy with the boys doing.
