RAIN RAIN GO AWAY....

Spent Thursday & Friday in DC... drove to Odenton then took the train in to Union Station. On Thursday we hopped the Metro so the kids have "officially" been on a subway now (we told them the tram at the airports didn't count LOL!) and then went over to the Air & Space Museum. The kids had a blast climbing through the space shuttles & testing out all the "hands on" stuff in the science of flight exhibit. Okay, so yeah, we had the typical Kevin "issues" but we're just trying to block those out of our minds. They got to feel a space suit at a hallway display that was out and thought that was pretty cool.

We ended up feeding them from one of the many diverse vendors in the basement of Union Station and I think even Kevin was impressed with all the different kinds of food he could eat! (Just our little chow machine!)

Friday we did the same trip - car to train to Union Station... and then got on a Tourmobile tram to do the loop tour around DC. In the car & on the train I had been reading some juvenile based literature about DC to the boys so they were able to remember some of the things we saw, plus we talked about the Presidents & all the pictures on the back of the $1, $2, $5, $10, $20 & $50 bill. I think Harry was waiting to see if I was gonna pull out a $100 bill LOL -- and no, I didn't do this on the train -- it was in the car LOL!!

Unfortunately it started to POUR down rain so we limited our stops to the Lincoln Monument (we climb all the steps in the rain and the kids look around and say, "What's there to do here??") and the Museum of Natural History. They seemed to really like looking at the dinosaur bones and all the (stuffed) mammals. We also took them into the Discovery Room in the way back corner and they could touch bones, turtle shells, coral, etc.. It was really nice that they have that in there!

It felt good to get back to the hotel that evening -- we were SOAKED from rain AND sweat and it was nice to just get washed off LOL!!
