Ah... summer vacation. Brings thoughts of beaches... picnics... swimming... family harmony. Uh huh. Here, summer vacation means whining... complaining... crabbing... and that's just from ME! I've been trying to work with the kids on treating others as they'd like to be treated. Quick & easy lesson for Mr. P... however, Mr. K seems to (conveniently) miss that concept. Sigh...
Boys are doing "Safetyville Square" this week. Really nice that Centerville offers all participants a free booster seat, so I'm going to take the green car up tomorrow to have the seats installed in it -- figure a spare set will always come in handy! We've been doing the summer reading program at the library -- it's a bit more intensive here than in Cincy -- they have to "read" (in other words, *I* have to read) 20 books before they are eligible for a goodie. I think they only had to do six in Cincy for each goodie / prize chance ticket. We're over halfway there now - woo hoo!
We're going to be working on the boys' swimming. We've joined a swim / tennis club ( www.dunsinane.org ) so they'll be enrolled in lessons (sometime!) this summer. Nice thing is that they will give us a "care giver" card for any babysitter to take the boys. That'll be great to be able to go & spend one-on-one time with just one kid while the other is occupied, too!
Hannah turned four on June 3rd. Just doesn't seem possible that it's been almost 4 years ago we brought that ball of fluff & sharp little puppy teeth home! Her championship lineage really shows through and she has such beautiful coloring. Right now we can see her little "birth mark" because she has her summer shave down "do".
In one week Sheila, Scott & the boys will be here -- for about a WEEK! I just can't wait.
Finally had my first fill on Friday the 10th. I just don't notice much of a difference. I had higher hopes. Darn...
Time for bed. Other yucky thing about Summer Vacation -- boys are up much later so my "down time" is a lot shorter.

Tell the boys that Uncle Joe used to do the dishes, but now Joey and Maria do the dishes. One person clears the table and the otherputs in the dishwasher. They switch jobs every other week.Aunt Vicki
At our house the kids pick up their
own dishes/plates etc and put them in the sink or dishwasher.
The person who cooks doesn't do the dishes unless the dishwasher is more wisely used in another way like to give bathes to three children which is a chore I'd rather not do over the dishes!the Klan
at our house other than just doin dishes, we vacum, dust etc... Our parents tell us if you want an allowance you can have one but you have to buy everything yourself including MCdonalds
